Lollapalooza retro fun – 2016 Poster art
This weekend in Chicago generally marks the pinnacle of Summer. Festival season is in high swing and happy music lovers pack into trains and their cars to head into the city for an ear feast at Lollapalooza.
The festival – staged against amazing backdrops of the city – is a high intensity fully packed journey taken yearly on the first weekend of August.
One of our favorite moments was seeing the Chili Peppers jamming that stage in 2016. Ten years prior they headlined Sunday’s stage. Both high energy sets. Not much had changed for the timeless funkadelics.
Covid unfortunately has made it very difficult to operate large festivals without high concerns of spread. Lollapalooza was officially canceled in June.
Luckily for us, Lolla went virtual, helping to feed our cravings for live experiences as much as possible during the pandemic.
Lolla released their weekend schedule this afternoon. You can find that here.
The 4 day event starts tomorrow July 30th and runs until Sunday August 3rd. Livestreams are free to watch on Youtube.
