Riot Fest Calls it a year

Sadly, we knew this was coming ~ If there were any fests that we still held out hope for, it was Riot. Sigh
The announcement for cancelling Riot Fest came today along with some pretty sweet incentives for fans, helping us to get through until next September.
One addition to next year’s fest includes a pre-game preview on Thursday with mystery guests. This addition is available for anyone who currently holds tickets, or those purchasing by the 2nd week of July.

First wave band announcements were also made this afternoon. In addition to My Chemical Romance, who had been announced previously as a headliner – Pixies, Sublime, L7, Meg Meyers and Circle Jerks will also perform. You can check out the full list of first wave bands on the banner above.
We are happy to see Chicago musicians Lupe Fiasco and Smashing Pumpkins joining the festival.

Refunds will be given for anyone who cannot make it next year. Sadly Covid has been the number one disruption for festivals and concerts in Chicago. With additional time and safety procedures, next year’s music season will be both safe and much required after this dry spell.
