13th Floor Haunted House Actor at Midwest Haunters Convention
Midwest Haunters hosted their first Illinois Convention this June in Schaumburg. This was the first convention of it’s kind, many haunted attractions shows are only open to those within the industry. Midwest Haunters allowed the public to get their hands on professional props, check out new trends, show off their costumes and have fun along with professional haunts.
Like Transworld, which is another large Haunted Attraction show in St Louis, Midwest Haunters offered classes that were taught to those who wanted to learn how to create their own props, makeup effects or learn better skills to run a professional haunted attraction. Attending the classes at MHC was a bargain, professional classes without cost to attendees.
Because the show is generally hosted in Ohio, it was a transition for some haunters who were not familiar with the area. Those coming in for next year’s convention may wish to pickup a free copy of our travel guide – which you can sign up for here. There will be a special MHC edition so that you can plan ahead.
As both a fan – and a haunter – i would say the show was pretty amazing. Enjoyed seeing more fans of the genre have the opportunity to enjoy what only haunters get to enjoy each season. Of course, it’s here in Chicago – which makes it great for the area. There were various price points on product, which means fans were able to walk away with some treasures. There were drawings for free haunted house tickets, costume contests with generous prizes. The costume party and airbrush competition both equally made a nice prequel to Halloween.
